Are John Mellencamp Meg Ryan Engaged?

Well, well now … what have we here? After only about 3 months of dating, it would appear that John Mellencamp and his ladylove Meg Ryan may have gotten themselves engaged to be married. Altho neither one of them have confirmed or even commented on this latest rumor, the fact that Meg was showing off [...]

Britney Spears, who has been in high pop star mode for the past few weeks, took some time this week to just be a mommy to her youngest son Jayden James. Our dear Britney took some time away from the recording studio to pick up JJ from karate practice and she looked as happy as can be.

As thrilled as I am that Brit Brit will be hittin’ us with a new album very soon, there is no question that she is happiest when she is in mommy mode. She looks happy, y’all … it’s a beautiful sight :D

Dutch Death Metal Masters Sinister Wreak Mass Havoc On Their Latest Killer Box Set CD+DVD Set

Though many associate "The Twist" with Chubby Checker, it was written and first recorded by Hank Ballard, who had hits with "Finger Poppin' Time" and "Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Go." Dick Clark was instrumental in reviving the song by having Checker record it. Checker says that he, not Ballard, created the iconic dance moves that made the Twist an international sensation in 1960.

X Factor: Another Standout Was…

And here come the Adam Lambert comparisons!
Aiden Grimshaw took on the Tears For Fears classic Mad World on X Factor Saturday night.
But, he really made this song his own!

Definitely captivating!

We love her, but as the shows go on, we honestly don't know if Cher Lloyd has what it takes to win X Factor.

But that's okay. She doesn't have to win. She's already won!

Cher is the most CURRENT and commercially viable of all the acts!

Forget about X Factor. We are more excited to see what she does AFTER the show!

As for her performance on Saturday night… The imaging is spot-on! We loved her physicality and her stage presence! She worked that stage and sounded great!

However….

The production was a bit distracting. The focus should be on her.

And, she pulled off the rapping, but we truly hope she uses it sparingly!

Check out Cher's performance of Just Be Good To Me (above).

Another Hollywood legend has passed away.

American filmmaker Sidney Lumet died Saturday morning in his Manhattan home at the age of 86.

Known for directing film classics such as 12 Angry Men, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, The Verdict, and Network, his stepdaughter Leslie Gimbel, says Lumet died from lymphoma.

He once said:

"While the goal of all movies is to entertain, the kind of film in which I believe goes one step further. It compels the spectator to examine one facet or another of his own conscience. It stimulates thought and sets the mental juices flowing."

Our thoughts are with his family. He will be missed.

Channing Tatum awesome suit

Yes! It sounds like Jon Chu is taking the upcoming G.I. Joe sequel very seriously and is trying to steer clear of its campy predecessor.

In a recent interview he shared his life-long love for the Joes, saying:

"To me, it's one of the few brands that has a soul, a multi-generational soul, where it's about what it means to be a leader in the community, in your home, with your friends, and what it means to be a leader and a hero."

As long as he skips the PSA at the end of every episode, we like his attitude. The world needs heroes now more than ever, but REAL heroes, not handsome actors making jokes as they zip around in CG "accelerator suits".

Although, we didn't mind the handsome actors, so much as the silly accelerator suits! Ha!

The director sounds like he's taking a more realistic approach to the film, saying:

"[G.I. Joe 2 is] not just another action movie. Maybe the first one was that, but we're really trying to break it down and take the shine off and show that my Joes were the ones in the mud, the sand and the trees and in the epic worldwide adventures. Each one had individual talents. So we really want to bring the experience of what I grew up with playing with these toys. What it feels like so that kids now can be reintroduced to the Joes and experience it in a different way. This is like down and dirty Joe for me."

Down and dirty Channing Tatum? We likey!

We're getting a little more confident in this movie the more we hear about it. We're crossing our fingers it turns out well!

Does the director's approach make U more or less excited for this movie?

Metrodome Collapse: See the Vikings Stadium Fall Apart – Bleacher Report

Metrodome Collapse: This is what you have been hearing about for the past few hours. Yesterday evening the roof of the Metrodome faltered and collapsed under the weight of an extreme amount of snow. As you can see in the video, what starts as a small leak quickly turns into a nightmare for Vikings officials.  The entire roof seems to deflate and then allows snow to pour onto the field negating any possibility of the team playing there anytime soon

Enter To Win A Free Swatch Color Code Watch!!

For months now I’ve been blogging and tweeting my love of Swatch watches (which I’ve been collecting since 1987) and the folks at Swatch and I want to share that love with all y’all! Starting today, I will be giving away 3 Swatch Color Code watches to 3 lucky Pink is the new Blog readers [...]

We are just about 2 weeks away from Xmas and while many of us are prepping to spend another holiday with our family and friends, actress Sandra Bullock is preparing to celebrate her first Xmas with her baby son Louis Bardo. To get into the fun Xmas spirit, Sandra took a very festive-looking Louis for a pony ride in sunny Santa Monica, CA over the weekend … behold:

It has been a year of incredible highs and lows for Sandra Bullock, but the actress is ending it on a very joyful note as she prepares to celebrate her first Christmas with baby Louis. The 46-year-old actress and her son were seen getting into the festive spirit as they attended a party in Santa Monica yesterday. She doted over the 11-month-old as she chatted with friends and at one point placed a Santa hat on his head. Louis also took a pony ride under the watch of other guests, although he looked a little apprehensive as he sat in the saddle. He seemed much more comfortable on his mother’s hip and the pair eventually headed home after a long day of fun … There are rumours Sandra will reunite with Jesse over the holidays to celebrate Christmas together in Austin. Sandra became very close to his three children Sunny, 7, Jesse Jr., 13, and Chandler, 16, during their marriage and wants Jesse to be involved in Louis’ life. ‘Sandra wants to make sure Louis grows up knowing Jesse’s children,’ an insider told In Touch Weekly magazine, ‘so she is willing to put the past behind her for the sake of the kids.’

Louis Bardo is THE cutest little boy ever … I can’t even function properly when I’m looking at pictures of him. He is just the sweetest little thing … with that Santa hat, OY! I can’t even … I also cannot imagine how excited Sandra must be to spend her first Xmas with Louis … something tells me that he is going to get spoiled rotten with love. As for reports that Sandra is planning to spend Xmas with her ex-husband Jesse James, well, I personally do not like it. I can understand and respect Sandra‘s desire to play nice with Jesse for the sake of the kids but there is no way in HELL I would allow my children to be in the vicinity of an overtly racist and untrustworthy person … period. Sandra is a much bigger person than I am in that respect. She is truly an amazing woman to want to spend her time with the children she’s come to love and care for. I sincerely hope they all have themselves a Merry Xmas together.

The X Factor Announces Tour Dates Across the UK

At first I was unsure how I was going to be able to review a Sublime cover band, or any cover band for that matter. But now that I have finally seen Badfish in concert, I don't know how I couldn't write about them. Sure you may think you know what to expect because you have listened to every Sublime album and know all the words by heart. But the songs and lyrics are only half of the experience. Hearing it live is another phenomenon entirely.

Jamorama Guitar Lessons The Fun and Easy Way to Learn Guitar

Rap music, which traces its origin to the African-American culture, is now allegedly a chaotic-sounding-genre of music with provoking lyrics and videos showing random violence, gang intimidation and such themes. The earlier Hip-hop-rap scene of the 50s and the 60s spoke about hopes, dreams, ideals and aspirations of both the black and white teens in the quality music by the artists of that era. Early black music united the American youth and the country's choice of music was almost parallel.

Finding the Right Guitar for You

As a pioneer of the folk-rock, singer/songwriter movement so prevalent and influential in the late 60s and early 70s, James Taylor has enjoyed an accolade-strewn career spanning some forty years, comprising legendary recordings, concerts and sadly, personal travails. His work as a guitarist stands up to comparison with many other, lauded talents in that arena, so I feel it is not inappropriate to put forward the epithet 'James Taylor Guitar Hero'. His technical proficiency and subtle fluency as a finger picker are second to none and there are many examples in his catalogue that bear witness to this.

Tough break!

The first of MTV's original, scripted series - The Hard Times of RJ Berger - has been canceled after two seasons!

Although debuting in seasons one and two to high numbers, the series, which focused on a well-endowed high school student, lost a huge amount of viewership steadily until dropping below one million by its season finale in May.

But hey! At least you got the network to stop airing so much crap reality!

And you also lasted longer than the abysmal Skins!

That's something! Ha!

United States Night Life Shows Variety At Its Best

An entire thought-provoking experience is often had by the individuals who are listening to Hendrix vinyl, Janis Joplin albums, Dylan records, etc. One may be reminded of the very power of humankind to rise up against oppression and strive for freedom, instead of just listening to the music. Few decades in United States history were as influential as the 1960's.

Pewter markings provide some clues to the provenance and/or maker of particular pieces and can help in establishing value. Knowledge of pewter markings can also help to identify false pieces which are of the wrong vintage or carry marks at a supposed point in time when they were known to be unfashionable, banned or frowned upon.
