Yesterday was another rainy, cold day here in SoCal so for the most part David and I stayed in doors and under the warm covers. We did venture out last night to hang out with our dear friend Angie and her beautiful daughter Kendall who we hadn’t seen in a few weeks. Angie and I had been talking about hanging out for a while so last night was the perfect opportunity.

We made our way to Sherman Oaks, CA to meet up with Ange and Kendall at The Cheesecake Factory for a bite to eat. Kendall snapped this amazingly cool photo of me on her mom’s iPhone so I thought I would share it with all y’all:

It’s a shame that it was so wet and cold yesterday because we didn’t get much chance to hang out as much as we would’ve liked. It was really great getting to catch up with Angie … I think we are planning on another hang out session later this week. As a former DJ, Angie has got a LOT of vinyl records so we are planning a record party at my place. And speaking of … my new record player has been getting a lot of use in the past few days … I managed to pick up a bunch of really amazing records … including Mantaray by Siouxsie Sioux:

I’m not sure how long this love for vinyl phase will last but I hope for a long time. One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to slow down and appreciate music more, on vinyl as much as possible. I haven’t really spent any real time getting to know albums like I used to. In this age of downloading tracks in seconds and then moving on to the next batch of songs, I have been very lax in getting to know albums. I can’t even tell you the last time I took the time to learn the lyrics of an entire album. Slowing down with vinyl will hopefully help me get back into the practice of appreciating music again.

It’s the first Monday of the New Year, I hope it’s been a good one for you thus far!!

Edward Furlong was Tuesday today in court, after a judge ruled that he violated a domestic restraining order.

The actor's estranged wife, Rachael Kneeland, had the order taken out which demanded he stay 100 yards away from her, which he violated this past November. The El Lay City attorney filed criminal charges, to which he pled no contest, and he was placed on probation.

Furlong arrived in court this morning for a progress hearing, when it was revealed that he had once again violated the restraining order by coming within 50 yards of Kneeland, so he was placed behind bars and is currently being held on $75,000 bail!

Ouch!

Sorry, bb - the law is the law!

And if she didn't want to see you enough to take out a restraining order, we don't know know what makes you think it would be okay for you to deliberately violate that shiz!

Ashlee Simpson, her hubby Pete Wentz and their son Bronx Mowgli did a bit of pre-Thanksgiving shopping here in SoCal yesterday to pick up a few odds and ends for today’s Thanksgiving Day feast. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the Simpson-Wentz family out and about together so it’s nice to see them all together as a family unit:

Judging by the small number of bags and that big poinsettia plant, my guess is that they were shopping for a larger Thanksgiving dinner with the rest of the Simpson family … tho, I suppose it’s possible that Ashlee and Pete are planning a quieter and smaller Thanksgiving dinner for just their little family. Yesterday we saw photos of our dear Britney Spears enjoying a loving afternoon in Calabasas, CA with her BFF/assistant Brett Miller. While I love seeing photos of Britney and Brett, I lamented the fact that we hadn’t seen Britney and her beau Jason Trawick out and about for some time now. Right on cue, new photos of Britwick came out that showed the couple making their way thru LAX Airport last night on their way out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday tomorrow:

It’s not clear where the couple are headed … might they be making their way to Kentwood, Louisiana to celebrate Thanksgiving in Britney‘s hometown? OR, might the couple be headed off to NYC so that they can celebrate the holiday with Jason‘s family who live there? It is also possible that Britwick might be ditching their families altogether and are headed for Hawaii, the site of their Summer vacation to relive their Summer romance? We've always been proud of Cindy McCain's efforts to help foster equality for all as a political wife. She's been heavily involved in many equality groups and even recently starred in an anit-bullying PSA for the NOH8 campaign.

That's why we were super confused when we read this tweet from Cindy, saying:

"I fully support the NOH8 campaign and all it stands for and am proud to be a part of it. But I stand by my husband's stance on DADT."

What?! How come you?! That's such a contradiction, especially considering the speech she made in the PSA! Seriously, she specifically says:

"Our political and religious leaders tell LGBT youth that they have no future … They can't serve our country openly … Our government treats the LGBT community like second-class citizens, why shouldn't [the bullies]?"

So what's the deal? You can't have it both way, Mrs. McCain. You can't stand behind your husbands crusade to keep the DADT policy afloat while also promoting equality for gay youth.
